Thunda Down Under 2019 Photo and Video Thread

Postby drew » Wed Apr 24, 2019 7:54 pm

Hi all,

I figured I'd start a thread for all of us to post various media in from the event. I'm starting out with photos from Thursday (the two of my 54mm flight recovery) and the rest are from Friday. I'll get through my Saturday and Sunday stills soon. Then onto the video.

Full photo album here.

And some sample photos.

That's all the photos from my DSLR minus the UWAA/AURC ones, that's a separate post.

@OTT, what motors did you end up flying in the two stage rocket? I am putting together a highlights video and would like to add captions to some of the flights.

O3400 to M2020. Early figures are 36k' and M2.1. Yet to be verified. My USYD team have a great closeup vid of the launch that I can fling you.

Love the one showing booster and sustainer smoke trails.

Great thanks. I have good video of the launch and staging, happy to send you the original footage. That would be great if I could get the closeup video of the launch from USYD. Will send PM.

Hi guys,

I am looking for some information on some of the rockets that were flown at Thunda.

I have some info already, but I am still missing the following:

Pete's (lamp) rocket... name and motor?
Drew's rocket ... name and motor? I know there were two flights. L935? M2245?
Matthew's RB-05A ... motor? M1830?
Matthew's Dark Star ... motor?
Karl's Beyonce ... motor?
Karl's 1/4 scale V2 ... motor?
David and Noel's red (4 hour build rocket) ... name and motor?
Do we know who owned the NZRA L600 hybrid rocket?
Crop Circles: ... just a bunch of guys looking for their rockets ....
