Hey Rocketeers

Well it's all over - MARS Attacks has come and gone, and it was...AWESOME!!!

There will be a full report coming, and also a spot where people can send their photos and videos, which will be announced soon.

We had some amazing flights; and although Saturday's weather wasn't great, Sunday was probably the most perfect rocket weather I've ever experienced, and for the entire day!

David Bell from NSW took home the event's Golden Rocket award for the magnificent flight of his half-scale Patriot - Many Victorian rocketeers hadn't seen a Sparky before, so watching such a big one in the fading afternoon light on Saturday, was really something to behold (photo attached).

The Saturday night party was without doubt the best party I've been to in ages. - That could be a full report in itself! Many friendships were made or rekindled around the campfire; and my hangover on Sunday was the stuff of Viking mythology!! :-)

I just want to thank everyone who helped us so much, as well as everyone who came; because without them we wouldn't have these events, and rocketry in Australia would be so much poorer for it.

Many, many thanks, Karl

p.s. See you all in Western Australia for the 2018 National Flying Circus!

Thanks for having us along, it was a brilliant weekend!

Did anyone get footage of the fireworks by chance?

I have it on my phone. Not sure of the quality. I missed the first 20 seconds of it, so there is only about 7.5 minutes worth :D

Will check it out this afternoon.

Since we are after video and pics, does anyone have:
Video or pics of the green Velociraptor flown on Saturdy afternoon
Video of the grey Apache flown on Sunday

Thanks

There's already lots of stuff posted, but we want lots more! And remember, not just photos of rockets - anything that shows the fun and excitement of the event!
