Name the new SCR Green Propellant and Win

Postby kopius » Mon Aug 28, 2017 10:50 pm

SCR has some new 'G' motors coming out shortly and we want your help to name the new Green propellant. Whoever's name is chosen will win one of the new motors and bragging rights.

Please submit your suggestions onto the SCR Facebook page where they will be shortlisted to decide the new name. https://www.facebook.com/southerncrossrocketry/posts/1329744790456357

Good luck!

Great competition 8)

When I was a kid we would sometimes find these mushroom type spores in the ground that had a green powder inside if you stomped on them. We used to call them Green Grilled Gofer Guts - no idea why. Not quite the name you were looking for?

In this 'modern' age where everyone has to be a victim (It's always someone else's fault and someone must "owe" me something) I am claiming discrimination and victim status as I do not have "Facebook" and therefore cannot participate.

I demand justice for all of us the non facebookites of the world.

Booger Green
Kermit the Propellant (may be copyright issues with this one)
Green Goblin (and this one...)
Leprechaun Green

Seriously though, flew an SCR F30 flawlessly at the last launch and looking forward to going through some SCR G motors soon...

After deliberations, the winner of the name the green propellant competition has been decided. There were many great suggestions and a few of our favourites were: SCReaming Green, Aurora, Greenzilla, Emerald Impulse and of course, Green Eggs and Ham.

So without further ado, the winning name is ‘Green Envy’

The winning name results in two recipients as we were torn as to who to give the first motor too. Firstly we had Chris Watters with the name ‘Envy’ followed by Tom Mullen adding the ‘Green’ component to the name. Congratulations to Chris and Tom and thank you to everyone for participating. Whilst the motors are destined for the Southern Hemisphere, we look forward to seeing these couple of motors rip skywards in the north.
