Hello team-DH,

Welcome to the forum. :D Tornado couplings are commercially available from here:

http://www.stevespanglerscience.com/product/1226

however, I am not sure how well they seal or what maximum pressure they will take. I think some rocketeers have used these before.

We make our tornado couplings out of 3/4" BSP polypropylene sockets used for irrigation. (http://www.philmac.com.au/Product/Product/ProductGroup.aspx?g=84)

We re-thread these on the lathe and also machine an o-ring seat into them.

You can also try making simple ones by drilling large holes in two bottle caps and glueing them back to back inside a plastic pipe. The one main problem with this technique is that the caps are made from polypropylene and so are very difficult to glue. If you are only after low pressure in the order of 100psi or so then this is a good alternative.
